Working Groups lie at the heart of the
Federation's scholarly exchanges. The purpose of these on-going groups is to provide sustained scholarly
dialogue and continuity of exchange over time. Meeting at the yearly conferences, but sometimes in between
as well, the working groups generally develop a program of research on the topic of their choice.
Memberships are fluid, but a core of long-term members provide the critical continuity and ongoing
developmental leadership.
Groups may be proposed by any Member(s) of FIRT by submitting a proposal to the Executive Committee which clarifies the topic under consideration and maps out a starting procedure and goals (guidelines on how to start a working group can be obtained through the working group contact link - below). The groups exist as long as they are useful, and then may stop meeting when goals are met or members are tired of their programs.
Below, descriptions and contact information
are provided for each working group. New members are encouraged to contact the conveners to find out more about the specifics of the current projects of each group.
